The historic match at York Park, was extra special to Hawthorn Football Club because it was the ground for Peter Hudson's debut in the brown and gold. October 9, 1966, was the day Hudson first played for Hawthorn, in an exhibition match against North. A skinny 20-year-old (he was listed in the record that day at 13 stone) Hudson had played the year with TFL side New Norfolk and signed with Hawthorn after also being named an All-Australian.
