Former Launceston School Student, best selling author and international celebrity, Jessica Adams,recently launched her latest book to assist WAR CHILD, at Fullers Bookshop in her childhood home town.
With the release of "Kids Night In" Jessica hopes to
raise a further $500,000 for WAR CHILD,an agency dedicated to helping children in war zones around the world.
Jessica has already raised $2 million from sales of her previous books.
"Kids Night In is a 780 page collection of new stories,poems and illustrations by more than 30 writers including Morris Gleitzman,Andy Griffiths,Graeme Base,Garth Nix ,Eoin Colfer,Jessica,Andrew Daddo and Ken Done.
Tasmanians who have contributed include Sallie Odgers and David Rish, plus Juliet Partridge and her daughter Francesca.
Juliet is a notable Launceston worker for peace and human rights,and is involved in many community projects.
Juliet with her husband Ken, regularly make available a community meeting space above their central city home in the historic former church property,"Chalmers" .
