Whether it be major infrastructure development for football at York Park or developing smaller grounds around the city for a variety of sports including hockey, soccer, football, athletics etc. Not everyone is happy with the level of support provided by the Launceston City Council. Many small sporting bodies have individuals apply each year for community assistance grants, not all are successful. In 2001 we saw the community assistance budget exhausted early into the year which resulted in applications being rejected, this would indicate a need for an increased budget. Note the budget has been temporarily saved by transferring funds from the alderman's allocations.
