sign my recycling petition as a non-elector of Launceston,i.e. under 18 or outside Municipality. This petition to the Launceston City Council for Launceston Recycling has been set up by Recycling and Litter Activists to allow the Recyclers of the World to support the campaign for recycling in Launceston. A RECYCLING PROJECT CITY MAINTENANCE POLICIES The campaign for recycling for Launceston continues to gain momentum. The candidate has had regular displays in The Civic Square and The Mall from late 200O promoting CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY, SUNDAY MARCH 4,2001 EARTHDAY APRIL 22 and is currently promoting WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY JUNE 5 At each of these promotions hundreds of Launceston electors have signed petitions calling for: full kerbside recycling for Launceston and public place recycling for Launceston In addition many people not on the Launceston Elector's Roll because they are from outside the Launceston Municipality or are under 18 have enthusiastically signed a supporters petition as keen recyclers and users of Launceston services. The Campaign continues on May 10 in The Mall. Pre checks are being undertaken now to verify that we have at least 1000 signatures prior to submitting the petition to Council. 1000 signatures guarantees us a public meeting as a matter of significant public interest. It is hoped that the kerbside recycling petition will be on the Council's Agenda for Monday June 4 to coincide with World Environment Day. The Public Place Recycling will be presented to Council by Christmas 2001 and Supporters petitions will be presented to Council on an ongoing basis by supportive aldermen,to keep the issue alive.
