TIME TAKEN 45 minutes 3-20 -5-05 pm SITE LOCATION and DESCRIPTION: both sides of Innocent Street from Hobart Road, top carpark to substation. COMMENTS:1 pepsi can that was apparently on sale 1993/1994 by promotional offer on side. Reaction to cleanup survey While cleaning Innocent street edge a car passenger offered a bottle to me,I explained that they should take it home and recycle in the normal manner,i.e. take to REMOUNT RECYCLE,response the lady threw it at me,as it was then litter I picked it up. There would seem to be a need for an identified litter/recycling patrol subsidised by the Kings Meadows Traders and/or the Launceston City Council which could educate the public on how to dispose of litter.. The area around the substation is used by staff in the area for "smokoes" or drink breaks - maybe a more central location may contain their litter to the carpark site. There was 1 bag of rubbish and recyclable collected/surveyed. More litter surveys to be found at: KINGSMEADOWS RIVULET LITTER PREVENTION STRATEGIES |
