New population surveys by the United Nations reveal that the world now has 6.1 billion people and is expected to be between 7.9 and 10.9 billion by 2050

Half of that would be in just 6 countries:
INDIA NIGERIA
CHINA BANGLADESH
PAKISTAN INDONESIA

This increase in population will place great environmental pressures on the world.

The world will need to be united in their resolve to allocate sufficient resources for the development of basic
waste management and sewage treatment infrastructure in all countries,if we are to ensure good health and living standards for all.

A focus for improving living standards can be the annual CLEAN UP THE WORLD project which is co-ordinated worldwide from Sydney annually in September and held in conjunction
with the UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME.
