Featuring Princess Diana,Princess of Wales

Prior to her death in the Paris tunnel The Princess of Wales
was rebuilding her life as an ambassador of many causes.

An appeal established after her death continues to support the charities and causes she supported so vigorously.

In 1997 ,79 of Princess Diana's gowns sold for more than
4 million dollars in New York in what auctioneers said was a record price for charity.

A blue silk velvet dress that she wore for a state dinner hosted by President Reagan at the White House in which she danced with John Travolta sold for $297,000,a record price for a costume.

The second highest price of the evening was $202,000 for a long strapless evening dress and cropped jacket that the princess wore on a state visit to Hong Kong.
